From 9 to 11 November the SPIE student chapter of Delft organized a 2.5-day school of physics at the university. Several (international) speakers were invited to give lectures to PhD students and others on topics ranging from mathematical physics to imaging without lenses.

Directly taking place after the Face2Phase conference, the school of physics featured lectures by international invited speakers of the conference, including Prof. dr. Carl Bender from Washington University in St. Louis (USA) and Prof. dr. Ari Friberg from the University of Eastern Finland.

Prof. dr. Carl Bender gave a series of lectures on how to sum a perturbation series when it converges and when it diverges.

Furthermore, Dr. Stefan Witte from VU Amsterdam gave a lecture on imaging with and without lenses and Dr. Yifeng Shao from Utrecht University (and the Optics Research Group in Delft) gave a hands-on workshop on automatic differentiation in TensorFlow. The school was concluded with network drinks.

Next to PhD students from ImPhys also international students attended the school of physics. Recordings of (some of) the lectures and the slides are available.

The SPIE student chapter once again thanks the speakers for their great lectures.
